Holograph, signed. Attests to the health of John Wright, who was being tried for murder. Reports that his physical health is good, but that he suffers from mental illness. Document is also signed by Thomas Webb Greene, surgeon of Litchfield.

He resided at Breadsall Priory, Derbyshire, and was a Justice of the Peace and Deputy Lieutenant. Darwin died on 6 November 1859, and was buried at Breadsall.
